sunset

After we went out in the service, had lunch and cleaned up for a bit we went to Sunflower Cafe with larry and birdie. We tried to contact Jasmin as well, but no one answered the phone. So we went just with the three of us.
On our way we stopped by a man we had seen earlier that day and during the week when we were out in the field service. He used to be a witness but became inactive. He has a farm in Bay Minette, and was selling his potatoes. So we bought some and he met Larry. We also tried to see if .... and Megan would like to come but they already had supper ready and had lots of things to do, so we'll go next saturday with the 5 of us.
So we went to the Sunflower Cafe and had supper. There was this waitress and Birdie asked me where I thought she was from, we both thought she would be from Russia or at least somewhere around the old SovjetUnion. And indeed she was from Russia. She married someone from the states last year and lives in Fairhope. She almost stayed the whole time (while we were eating) to chat, and ask things about all kinds of stuff. Birdie and I tried to witness to her, and she invited me to go to Waterland (which is a kind of waterpark Golfshores) with her and her husband and some friends. But we already have plans next Saturday.

After we had supper we went to the Fairhope Pier to see the sunset. But near Mobile, on the other side of the water, was a thunderstorm and you could see it was raining and the lightning in the clouds which wwas so beautiful to see. I could not catch the lightning with my camera thought :( but made a movie out of it, .. hope I can put those on my blog as well.

When we went on the pier we heard to man talking about how hard it is to make returnvisits when you're out in service.. it appeared that there was a whole bunch of brothers and sisters. They had met in one of the parks, prepared their study and had supper together. We made a picture, and chatted for a bit. One of them (the brown brother) thought I was 22, was very very very hyper (he said he had eaten something, yeah right:P) and also thought I had a Dutch accent. The other brothers and sister said I had a nice accent without the southern things in it. So I guess it's okay then ;)

We said goodbye and went further on the pier, made some lovely pictures, enjoyed the wind, the thunder and lightning and then went home.
My Saturday:)

I'll put the pictures in! In two hours I'll be at the meeting, and after that we, hopefully, go to the beach. otherwise we will only go to the movies tonight to see spiderman 3.

Love merel

Jammer hè Merel dat ik niet met je mee ben gegaan, ik had je vast kunnen helpen met het vertalen van het Russisch naar het Engels, maar misschien een nieuwe uitdaging voor je, liefs Karin
